Surrounded by an outside town
Where wondering faces lead to wandering eyes
Whoever makes it to the ATM first
Who is sitting alone upon a bench
With smiling eyes drawing in all
Around me and I’m refusing to
Just longer take the smudge off my glasses
Scoping out jeans that have tassels
On the bottom like the fringe
That appears at the edge of carpets
And now tempted by a nervous
Stomach and a bleeding ulcer
To watch the brown leather jacketed
Man take headshots of tassel pants
As I let the led Zeppelin fill my
Eardrums not fearing if my hair
Floats my face from the wind or
If my fingers become chilled and
Relaxed in my pockets
The smell of old ladies lunches
In their plastic bags and I await
A curly haired stingray’s arrival
Singing in peace with tangerine
On a bench and I’m southbound
In a place I don’t know but it’s
Okay yeah it’s just okay

With the group of boys outside the slig
Pulling on drags of their cigarettes
And the photographer has kept
Moving down and I remember the days
When I let them take my picture
And it filled my everything and I
Couldn’t wait to get those likes
On Facebook or whatever the hell
I thought I was thinking ;
I was wrong so very wrong fo think
That any of it really mattered
