I’m staring at a tiny blue bead

At the bathroom floor at my feet

Its larger than an ant but smaller

Than a spider that would scare

You, it’s one of those embroidery

Beads that you can sew with;

It used to belong on an old

Belt my mother gave me that

I turned into a key ring, that

Got liquid poured on it out

In Colorado and had to be

Left in the sun, I used to

Swing my key chain around

And toss it to myself once

Before everytime I got behind

The wheel, it would touch

My right thigh as I would drive

And I’m not sure where the

Keychain is, if it got roasted

In a fire, in a trash bag or

Maybe tucked away but

I haven’t seen it for a while,

I hadn’t even thought of it

Until I decided I needed

To finish some business

In the bathroom and all

It took was one tiny blue

Bead to spark memories

Upon memories flashing

Inside my mind, where

Sometimes sees more

Than the naked eye, though

Is viewed as blind maybe

Because it can be less

than kind
